Klankenbos Residency - Felix Blume

Sun 27 Sep 2020 - 09:00 to Sun 25 Oct 2020 - 22:00
Provinciaal Domein Dommelhof, Toekomstlaan 5, 3910 Neerpelt

For a month, sound artist and field recorder Felix Blume (FR) is working on a new sound artwork for Klankenbos together with the residents of the Red Cross Refugee Centre in Pelt. In a participatory trajectory consisting of several workshops, the participants will be guided to express themselves in sound. The installation consists of a collection of old doors, which will resound in the woods. Through the doors you will hear songs, stories, voices and dreams of people on the run. They literally receive a place in the landscape and in this way demand their presence and audibility to be recognised. With this work, Félix Blume invites everyone to listen as a means of mutual understanding and critical thinking.

The installation will be opened during OORtreders Festival 2020 as part of the Expo route from 23-25.10 at various locations in and around the Provincial Domain Dommelhof, the Kanaal Zone and the City of Pelt, with a presentation on 25.10 at 16:00 hours. The work of art will then become part of the permanent collection of Klankenbos.

In collaboration with CC Palethe, C-TAKT+, the City of Pelt, Musica, Impulse Centre for Music, Provincial Domain Dommelhof, Province of Limburg and Red Cross Refugee Center Overpelt.
